Street Photography in Buenos Aires’s Oldest Neighborhood

San Telmo is by far my favorite neighborhood to shoot in Buenos Aires.

It’s one of Buenos Aires' oldest neighborhoods, with cobblestone streets and colonial-era buildings dating back to the late 18th century.

And that old-school, minimally restored architecture has aged like a fine Malbec – iron balconies, peeling plaster, and timeworn facades that give the neighborhood (and your photos) a nostalgic feel.

Here’s a quick POV photo walk around from the neighborhood.

San Telmo is also home to one of my favorite events to photograph in the city – seriously, I went about 5 times – the Sunday market.

Stalls line the streets with handmade crafts, street food, live music, and a whole lot of tango dancing.

Its convergence of tourists and locals alike also make it a great opportunity for street portraits of strangers.
