Film Photography in Buenos Aires’s Busiest Neighborhood

In Buenos Aires’s central business district colloquially known as “Microcentro” there’s always something happening.

It’s the heart (“centro”) of the city where skyscrapers meet historic buildings meet monuments meet busy streets.

If you’re looking for more traditional candid street photography, this neighborhood is a goldmine. A walk down Avenida 9 de Julio, for example, offers street photos galore.

It’s also where you’ll find some of the city’s most historic landmarks – the Obelisco and Teatro Colon, just to name a couple.

But what I love about Microcentro is that it isn’t all hustle.

Among the office buildings and crowded avenues, you’ll find quiet cafés and relaxing plazas.

It’s got the energy of a city center, but finding a moment of calm isn’t as hard as you might think.

Even if just for an afternoon, Microcentro is a must to experience Buenos Aires’s diverse character.
